Location: Hostel, Imatra
Time: 2114 Finland
Weather: 9°C
Feeling: cold and tired

The buffet was such a let down!! It wasn’t even a buffet. When we entered the dining area, the appetizer was already set out so I was ok, maybe the main course would be buffet. Then we had to wait for the students from Imatra to arrive and the wait just made me hungrier. Finally everyone arrived and the cook announced the main course. CHICKEN AND RICE. HOW THE HELL IS THAT A BUFFET? Ok…nevermind maybe we can take as much as we want. After stuffing the appetizer down my throat (I thought it was not bad, especially the mushroom salad and this bread thing stuffed with rice and topped with butter egg), I queued for the main course. BLOODY HELL. There were this 2 cooks giving out the food and the portions were so small, probably like half a bowl of rice and topped with chicken. I almost cried there. After main course, desserts. Blueberries, raspberries, strawberry and a blob of whipped cream.

After dinner, this old man started telling us some stories and singing Finnish songs. I think less than 10 people paid attention to him. Everyone was so bored, they started making origami using the paper napkins. By the end of the whole event, there were paper cubes, paper flowers, paper dogs and other weird things lying around.

The up side was we met with Shi Yun and Mei Qi. We were so happy to see them. We actually planned to stay overnight with them and go partying but they realized that we need our passports to get into the clubs and Swee Ting is still underage. There was going to be some before party at some French people house but we will have to leave around 10 to catch the last train. But nevermind, Friday will be here soon and we can PARTY!!!!

We are going to “pon” class from Monday to Wednesday. Shi Yun, Mei Qi, Swee Ting and I will be going to Tallin. I don’t know where that is but according to Shi Yun, it’s somewhere near Ukraine. It will cost €22.50 for the ship ride there, and we will have to stay overnight on the ship.

Ok…that’s all. Paka (that’s bye in Russian, I’m sure that’s not how it’s spelt but it sounds like that).
