Location: Hostel, Imatra
Time: 0931 Finland
Weather: cold, windy
Feeling: ok

Was feeling super bored yesterday so when Swee Ting, Tze Yi and Ya Chen went to do the laundry, I went over to Marina and Anastatia’s room and asked if they wanted to hang out. I finally had my talk with them. 19 years old. They live in St Petersburg which is very near to Imatra. Only 4 hrs. And they didn’t have to pay for the rental of the flat. So not fair (imagine whiney voice)! They are nice people, very funny. Every time Marina wanted to say shop, she would say “magazine” which means shop in Russian. At one point she was speaking in Russian to us as she forgot to switch. She said that had happened before when she was talking to Astar (our tutor). Marina ran up to Astar and started sprouting Russian and Astar was like o.O

According to them, St Petersburg is a very wet place and rain can last for 2 weeks. In north Russia temperature can drop to -40°C. Halfway through, Tze Yi joined us and we had an even more animated conversation. We talked for quite long and before we knew it, it was already close to 12mn. And we started at 8 I think. Swee Ting was already sleeping by then and I had to take a shower. When I flipped on the lights she was like…zzzz close the lights zzzz….. So I had to survive with the lights coming from the dining room.

We have some exchange student gathering today. Will be playing some games and traditional dance?

We are going to City Centre later to make an appointment for our bank account. Ya Chen loaned us their bicycles so it will be faster to travel to City Centre. We have to be back by 11 as our gathering is at 1130 and Swee Ting is taking her sweet time to shower and change. Grr…so slow eh.

We promise to abide by Espall's #1 rule
